“Scouting for Food” is the scouting community’s stewardship project aimed at addressing the problems in the community. The food collection effort carried out by Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts this year, as last year, will distribute and collect plastic bags throughout a designated area.
On Saturday, February 20 residents of Westlake can fill bags with non-perishable goods and place it outside the front door of the home. A local scout unit will pick up the bags from 8 a.m. until 12 noon. If the bag is not picked up, residents are asked to call on Monday, February 22 at 337-436-3376.
Boy Scout Troop 88, sponsored by Westlake Methodist Church, led by Scoutmaster Dr. Kenneth Eastman and Cub Scout Packs 88 and 86, also sponsored by Westlake Methodist, led by Cubmaster Stephanie Darbonne are participating in this drive.
All food collected will be taken to Care/Help of Sulphur to help restock their food pantry.
