American Idol Top 3 finalist, and Westlake native, Joshua Ledet receives a Hometown Hero welcome to Southwest Louisiana. Among the many celebrations in honor of Ledet, a parade was held on the streets of Westlake Saturday, followed by a visit to Westlake High School and then, later in the evening, a pep rally and concert featuring Ledet held at Burton Coliseum in Lake Charles. The concert was simulcast live at the Lake Charles Civic Center.

WCCH participates in statewide commemoration

Babies born on April 30th throughout the state are all being recognized for having such a special birthday. Approximately 200 to 250 babies were born on the state's bicentennial, according to the Louisiana Hospital Association and the Louisiana Bicentennial Commission, and West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital.
