Question: I’ve noticed that my allergies flare up when it rains, but people keep telling me that it’s my imagination, and that allergies are supposed to go away when it rains because the pollen is washed away. I’m confused. Who’s right?
Answer: In this case, everyone. How rain affects allergies depends on what you’re allergic to. If you’re sensitive to pollen, then rain can be a good thing – it indeed washes the pollen out of the air (although this is a mixed blessing, because it also helps the pollen-bearing plants to flourish later). However, if you’re sensitive to mold, then rain is far from a blessing. There are some unfortunate souls who are allergic to pollen and mold. In Southwest Louisiana, that means that every season is allergy season!

Question: What is the treatment for deteriorating disk of the neck?
Answer: It depends, and it's important to understand that all discs will degenerate in all individuals over time.  Surgery is usually not needed unless there is nerve or spinal cord damage.  Often the degeneration can be slowed down with simple injections and physical therapy, with surgery used as a last resort.
