Savannah Nicole Hickman, 13, of Carlyss, La., passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2008, at 1:55 p.m. in Vinton, La.
She was born February 25, 1995 in Woodlands, TX and was a resident of Carlyss, La. Savannah was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and completed the seventh grade at W.W. Lewis Middle School, Sulphur, La. where she was involved in 4-H and very active in sports. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, riding her horse, talking on her cell phone and never meeting a stranger while always trying to make people laugh with her personality and character.
Survivors include her father, William “Willie” Hickman of Houston; her mother, Paige Mudd and husband Troy of Carlyss; sister, Cheyenne Hickman of Carlyss; two step-sisters, Kayla Mudd and Madison Mudd both of Lake Charles; paternal grandparents William Earl and Mattie Ruth Hickman of Brenham, TX; maternal grandparents, Curtis and Juanita Mays of Carlyss; step-grandparents, Thomas and Beverly Mudd of Iowa, LA; Godfather, Mark Mays of Arab, AL; Godmother, Angela Ellender of Longville, LA; and numerous aunts, uncles ad cousins.
Funeral services for Savannah Hickman will be held at 10 a.m.. Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss. Rev. Thomas Vellappallil, M.S. will officiate. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Robison Funeral Home, 107 West Napoleon St., Sulphur, La.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, August 12, 2008 from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 from 8 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. A Rosary will be held at 7p.m. Tuesday evening.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
