The Town of Vinton will be holding an auction of surplus equipment on Saturday, June 5 at 10 a.m. at the Town Maintenance Facility on Hampton Street. A complete list of auction items may be obtained at the Town Hall. Surplus supplies come from the police department, the fire department, the administration department and include small items up to large equipment.
Some of the most interesting items on the list are computer equipment, a shredder, VCR , televisions, chain-saw, and bicycles. These items will start bidding at $5 for most items. A Dell computer will begin bidding at $10.
The large equipment includes almost 10 automobiles with bidding starting as low as $25 for a 1980 Oldsmobile Delta 88, and as high as $200 for a 1999 Chevy 2500 passenger van. Some of the most expensive equipment will begin at $800 for a 1981 GMC dump truck and go up to $2,500 for a Case 580E back hoe, model no. 580 Super E.
