Westlake, La. -

According to Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Tony Manucuso, at approximately 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 6, the Ward 6 constable, Ricky Brummet, reported to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office that he had information and a person of interest from the early Thursday morning hit and run on Myrtle Springs Road in Westlake.

Schreve C. Bunch, age 30 of Marcentel Road, Vinton, turned himself in, admitting that he was driving the vehicle that witnesses called a full sized, light colored truck (CPSO later identified the truck as a full size 2003 GMC Z-71 with a 'lifted' suspension). Bunch is charged with felony hit and run, was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Facility on a $10,000 bond, and was released on bond.

The victim, Melba Hyde of May Street, Westlake, was reportedly walking down the center of Myrtle Springs road in Westlake when the accident happened. Mancuso told reporters that toxicology reports on Hyde were pending.
