Angela Lee Osipuk, 45 year old Lake Charles woman arrested in connection with the December 2008 four vehicle accident which resulted in the death of 5 year old Garrett Vice of Vinton, pled guilty in district court. A pre-sentencing report has yet to be done, but should be completed several weeks before the sentencing date.
The Office of Probation and Parole will be notified by the Court to prepare this report. The report will give Judge Wilford Carter a view of whom he’s sentencing. It will include any prior criminal history, statements from the defendant’s family among other things. The victim’s family will have an opportunity to speak both in the pre-sentencing report and at the sentencing itself.
Sentencing date has been set for August 4, 2010. Osipuk pled guilty to one count of vehicular homicide, one count of first-degree vehicular negligent injury, six counts of vehicular negligent injury and one count of first-offense drunken driving.
