Ward 7 Recreation is now making plans for the 2010 Vinton Dixie Youth Baseball/Softball program. Registration for the Vinton Dixie Youth Program will be held at the Ward 7 Recreation. There will be no phone in registration for baseball/softball. Parents need to register all returning and new players on one of the following days: weekdays, Monday, March 1 to Friday, March 12 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday, March 6 between 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. To register, you will need to bring a copy of the players’ birth certificate, if one is not in the files. Registration fees are: $25 per player; family rates are $35 for two players, $45 for a family of three or more players in the same household; and t-ball is $15 per player. An accidental insurance is available for $8.50 per player. Coverage for insurance begins at time of payment. Age requirements are: t-ball must be 5 by August 1, 2010; other ages: boys age attained prior to May 1 of the current 2010 year and girls age attained prior to January 1 of the current 2010 year. The draft date and time for each age division will be given out at registration. There will be absolutely no registration taken on draft day. Be sure to register on one of the registration days provided.
