The Sam Houston Lady Broncos never led in a 55-43 loss to the North Vermilion Lady Patriots on Monday in Moss Bluff.
The Lady Broncos (18-16) trailed by five late in the game, but the North Vermilion (21-7) hit 8-of-10 free throws in the last three minutes of the game to seal the win.
"They hit their free throws," said Sam Houston head coach Korey Arnold. "They did a good job on the offensive glass and we didn't. They hit their lay-ups and they made their free throws. I thought that that was the difference in the game.”
Kim Kennedy led all scorers with 22 points for Sam Houston and Haley Carrier added 7 points.
Mimi Bridges scored a team-high 18 points for North Vermilion.
Monday’s game was the final home game for four Lady Broncos. Gabriel Boudreaux, Kim Kennedy, Haley Carrier, and Amanda Conner were honored prior to the game.
