The Westlake Lady Rams couldn't hold off the Church Point Lady Bears in a 63-56 District 4-3A loss on Friday in Westlake.
Westlake (13-14, 3-6) took a 28-21 lead in at halftime and led as much as 11 in the second half, but Church Point (18-4, 8-1) was able to take advantage of the Lady Rams' mistakes to take the win.
Jordyn Netty gave the Lady Rams an 11-point, 34-23 lead with just over five minutes remaining in the third quarter. Church Point's A. Garrick led the Lady Bears on a 19-6 run that ended the period to give them a 44-40 advantage going into the fourth quarter.
The Lady Rams fought their way through the fourth quarter and cut a nine-point lead down to a five point Church Point advantage with just under two minutes left, but couldn't get any closer. The Lady Bears converted on 6-of-9 free throws in the last minute to seal the win.
D. Citizen led all scorers with 23 points for the Lady Bears with J. Citizen adding 15 points.
Kylie Goodeaux scored a team-high 22 points for Westlake and Netty added 10 points.
Friday's game was the last home game for senior Emily Dickerson.
The Lady Rams will conclude the regular season on Tuesday when they take on the Iowa Lady Yellow Jackets.
