After taking a break over the weekend, the Sulphur High Tors returned to the practice field on Monday adding shoulder pads for the first time.
“I hope that it was as exciting for the players as it was for us as coaches,” Bourgeois said. “The difference with the game has to be with the shoulder pads.
“Our kids were moving around pretty good.”
Bourgeois said that the coaching staff would be able to get a better idea of the players this week.
“Obviously when you put them on you see a lot of things as a coach,” Bourgeois said. “We tried to film it as much as we could and we will go back and show them the mistakes.
“We are going to see a difference in a lot of players this year because a lot of them have not seen varsity time.”
The Tors are building up to Thursday when they will go full pads and for Friday’s first live intraquad scrimmage.
“We are going to teach and be on them and get the most out of them and hopefully we move around pretty good on Friday,” Bourgeois said.
