Thursday night held a rare opportunity for the residents of Southwest Louisiana to host three coaches of Louisiana State University, one of which is fresh off a national championship win.

Coaches Paul Mainieri, Trent Johnson, and Les Miles along with Athletic Director Joe Alleva were on hand at the Isle of Capri in Westlake for a stop on the LSU Tiger Tour.

The stop in Lake Charles was the first for Mainieri since winning the College World Series in Omaha.

“I don’t think I can put into words how excited I am,” Mainieri said on coming off the national championship. “It’s kind of a surreal feeling.”

After Coach Johnson addressed the crowd on everything Tiger basketball, Les Miles spoke on the upcoming LSU football program.

Miles was asked possibly the hardest question of the night, when are the Tigers going to play the McNeese Cowboys in football?

“You tell ‘em bring it on,” Miles said in response. “We enjoy filling the stadium while celebrating football with a neighboring school in the state.”
