The Westlake Lady Rams closed out the St. Louis Catholic High School Varsity Spectacular with a 7-0 shutout of DeRidder on Saturday in Lake Charles.
Westlake went 2-1 in the pool, beating DeQuincy 2-1 in their first game of the day and falling to South Cameron 10-4.
In their shutout of DeRidder, Westlake scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth. Crystal Picard brought home two runs on a single roped down the third base line and three more Lady Rams scored on an errand throw by DeRidder’s Sydney Gibson that sealed up the 7-0 win.
Maggie Bradshaw pitched five innings to strike out six batters while walking only one and allowing three hits.
Bradshaw also went 2-for-2 at the plate and Kasha Carpenter went 2-for-3 for the Lady Rams.
