Former Missouri DE Golden signs with New York Giants
At one point Thursday, it looked as if former Missouri defensive end Markus Golden could return to his home state. By the end of the day, he had signed with the New York Giants.
Golden signed a one-year deal with the Giants on the second day of free agency, NFL Network reported. Yahoo! Sports reported earlier Thursday that the Chiefs had expressed interest in Golden.
Signing with the Giants reunites Golden with his former defensive coordinator, James Bettcher. The two worked together from 2015-2017 in Arizona. During that time, Golden registered 16.5 sacks, 12.5 of which came in one season.
Over four seasons, Golden has tallied 19 sacks and 123 combined tackles.
