Westlake-Crowley score

CROWLEY — Westlake lead for a quarter and racked up 230 rushing yards, but Crowley used a big second quarter to beat the Rams 26-20 Friday night.

Westlake (0-2) quarterback Drew Winn and wide receiver Cullen Hamilton hooked up for a 77-yard score in the first quarter for a 6-0 lead.

Crowley’s (1-1) Obadiah Butler tied the game on a 7-yard run and the Gents took the lead for good on a 1-yard run by Kendall Harmon. 

In the second quarter, Westlake had a chance to tie the game but fumbled in the red zone a Crowley’s Tavan Minix scooped it up and returned it 95-yards for a 18-6 lead. Westlake fumbled the ball five times and lost three of them.

Westlake’s Jasia Simien scored on runs of 9 and 3-yards in the second half and finished with 77 yards on 23 carries. J.J. Ross led the Rams’ ground attack with 145 yard on 24 carries.

Westlake will travel to Rayne (1-1) on Friday.
