NEW IBERIA — Sulphur led early but New Iberia score 34 unanswered points to beat the Tors 40-7 Friday night.
It was the Tors’ (1-8, 0-6) sixth consecutive loss.
With 6:50 left in the first quarter, Sulphur took a 7-6 lead on a 15-yard pass from Jacob Clark to Braylen Walker. 32 seconds later, New Iberia took the lead for good on a 70-yard pass from Matthew Thomas to Braylon Willis.
Thomas later scored a pair of rushing touchdowns and Tyce Fuselier scored twice while running for 193 yards on 18 carries.
New Iberia (2-8, 2-4) held Sulphur to 112 yards of total offense while gaining 393 of its own.
Walker finished with two catches for 24 yards and Tor running back D.J. Harris ran for 60 yards on 15 carries.
Sulphur will close out the season on Friday at Sam Houston (7-2, 5-1).
