LAFAYETTE — For three consecutive weeks, Sulphur Tors have held the lead in the fourth quarter, but for the third consecutive week, a win eluded them. Sulphur lost to Comeaux 33-30 Friday.

It was the Tors third consecutive loss by three points or less.

Sulphur led 30-26 with 1:48 left after Gavin Elliott caught his third touchdown of the game on a 60-yard pass from Jacob Clark. But Comeaux went ahead with 50 seconds left when Malik Nabers scored his fourth touchdown of the night on a 60-yard pass from backup quarterback Jalon Lewis, who was filling in for the injured Tre Harris.

Sulphur turned the ball over on downs in the closing seconds of the game.

Elliott made five catches of 160 yards and Clark completed 11 of 21 passes for 200 yards.

Nabers had 10 catches for 176 yards and Lewis completed 12 of 20 passes for 223 yards.

In Week 5, Sulphur led 10-3 until Lafayette took the lead with 55 seconds left. Last week, Sulphur led 35-31 but Southside scored the go-ahead touchdown with 1:30 left.
