LAFAYETTE–After the start of the game was delayed nearly an hour because of lack of referees, things did not start well for the Lady Tors as Comeaux scored in the first minutes and went on to win 3-0 in Division I District III soccer action on Tuesday.

SULPHUR–The Comeaux Spartans were able to get one goal past Sulphur goalkeeper Anthony Heffernan, and that was enough to beat the Tors 1-0 on Tuesday in Sulphur.

SULPHUR–The Sulphur Golden Tors rallied in the last minute of the third quarter, but couldn’t carry the momentum in the fourth quarter in a 64-58 loss to Westgate on Tuesday night in Sulphur.

VINTON–East Beauregard picked up two wins over Vinton Tuesday night at the Lady Trojans won 66-24 over the Lady Lions and the Trojans handed the Lions a 61-25 loss.

LAKE CHARLES–Shante’ Perry had a career performance in the McNeese Cowgirls’ 71-66 win over Louisiana Tech on Saturday at the Burton Coliseum. Perry broke the McNeese women’s three point record hitting 9-of-10 with a career high 39 points to lead all scorers.

SULPHUR–The Sulphur Lady Tors saw a six point lead fade in a 37-29 loss to the Archbishop Chapelle Chipmunks on Wednesday in the Sulphur High School/Citgo Holiday Tournament.

SULPHUR–Sulphur’s Chip Armelin opened up the fourth quarter with pair of free throws and two three-pointers to pull the Tors to within two points, 40-38, but it was not enough as the Tors fell to the Ruston Bearcats 44-39 in the championship game of the Sulphur High/Citgo Holiday Tournament on Wednesday.
