How should we feel about a country that would welcome a conference of the extremist Sunni Islamic organiation Hizb ut-Tahrir?
What should we think if a major, international city in that country hosted the meeting and provided the organization with all of the rights and privileges afforded its citizens at taxpayer expense?
What should be our attitude toward a top rated, triple diamond, luxury hotel that opened its arms to welcome that organization with its legendary hospitality to accommodate its effort to bring down that country’s system of government and promote a hostile agenda?
Is not that exactly what happened Sunday, July 19th, when the Oak Lawn Hilton Hotel in Chicago welcomed a conference, openly advertised and held this global Sunni network?
Consider the following news report:
“Roughly 500 members of Hizb ut-Tahrir ― a global Sunni network with reported ties to confessed 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Al Qaeda in Iraq's onetime leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi ― met inside a Hilton hotel in Oak Lawn, Ill., to host "The Fall of Capitalism and the Rise of Islam."
Does that qualify a country to be added to the list of terrorist-friendly countries?
What constitutes an act of treason? Where is the CEO of Hilton Hotels, as well as the Mayor of Chicago, Governor of Illinois, the U.S. State Department, FBI, CIA, Homeland Security?
Where is the grass roots outrage?
Why would an American city allow this to go on?
Why would a great American institution like the Hilton Hotel open its doors to such a network?
Why should I every stay in a Hilton Hotel again?
