I will be 89 years old this coming September and cigarettes didn't seem to hurt me after 32 years with no filter. This letter is written to tell the people that are pushing for more taxes on cigarettes that some people have been smoking for 60 or 70 years. If we still live in a free country, please let them enjoy the life they have left.
If you have to have more money get it somewhere else. Cigarettes are part of lots of people's lives.
I smoked short camels for 32 years. When I saw on TV that they may give you lung cancer, I had three packs so I finished them off and quit, but everyone can't do this. You may make them take money that they could use for cornbread and milk.
I am a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge and I didn't put my life on the line for nine months to come home and have our old folks treated like this.
