On behalf of the Library Board of Control and staff, I would like to thank the voters of Calcasieu Parish for their overwhelming support of the library tax renewal initiative on May 2. The 91 percent YES vote is unheard of in the library world. The Library Tax Advisory Committee and library staff did an outstanding job in promoting the library tax renewal initiative. You certainly can be proud of your library system. I often state in my speeches that I am honored to be the Library Director of Calcasieu Parish Public Library as I have worked and directed in eight different libraries in six states and this is by far the best system I have worked for.
We look forward to continuing to provide you with the best library service with the latest technology.
