Funeral services for Ms. Starla Rae Benoit, 5, of Hackberry, will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 11 a.m. in St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church in Hackberry, Louisiana.
Father Rommel Tolentine will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Peter Catholic Church Cemetery under the direction of Robison Funeral Home.
Visitation will begin in the Church Hall on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m., and continue on Thursday, August 21, 2008 from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Starla returned to her Heavenly Home on Monday, August 18, 2008 surrounded
by her loving family after her battle with cancer.
Survivors include her parents, James Benoit of Hackberry and Michelle Garcia of Sulphur; her sister, Katlyn Benoit of Lake Charles; two brothers, Hunter Garcia of Lake Charles and Corin Benoit of Hackberry; paternal grandparents, Kathy and Kenneth Simon of Hackberry, and James and Monica Benoit of Lake Charles; maternal grandmother, Elsa Davila of San Antonio, Texas; maternal great-grandmother, Minerva Davila of San Antonio, Texas; maternal aunt, Savannah Gonzales of Moss Bluff; godparents, Denise and William Murphree of Lake Charles; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Johnny Leo Garcia.
