Funeral services for Mr. Billy Jack Tate, 78, of Sulphur, will be held on Friday, December 26, 2008 at 2 p.m. in Robison Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Mel Estess will officiate. Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 29, 2008 at 11 a.m. in Rosehill Cemetery, Obion, Tenn. Minister Harrell Davidson will officiate graveside services.
Visitation will begin on Friday, December 26, 2008 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Mr. Tate passed away on Monday December 22, 2008 in a local hospital. A native of Elbridge, TN, and longtime resident of Sulphur, Mr. Tate served his country in the United States Air Force for over 20 years before retiring. He then was hired as a welding instructor. Mr. Tate later went to work for Sta-Rite Corp. He is affiliated with the Church of Christ religion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tempie Lavergne and Jack Tate.
He is survived by his wife wife of 55 years, Patricia Burke Tate of Sulphur; son Kenneth Tate of Obion, TN; sister Dorothy Lee Grisham and husband Billy Gene of Polk Station, TN; and two aunts, Nezodie Tate of Obion, TN, and Ethel Lee Fox Union City, TN.
