Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a traffic stop on a car at East Broad Street and I-210 overpass in Lake Charles for a traffic violation during the late afternoon hours of January 27. When deputies reportedly spoke with the passenger, John B. Baham, 19, of Tom Hebert Road, Lake Charles, and checked his Louisiana driver’s license, it was discovered the address listed was outdated. Baham is a registered sex offender.
During further investigation, Baham confirmed to deputies that he had moved without notifying the proper authorities within three days, as required by law for all registered sex offenders.
He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with failure to register as a sex offender.
Baham was convicted of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile in Calcasieu Parish in August 2011.
Judge Ron Ware set his bond at $6,000.
