Saturday, March 19, The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Calcasieu Cameron Coordinating Council hosted a bruncheon/book review recently. The event was held at the Henning United Methodist Family Life Center in Sulphur. Tables were decorated with spring colors and many spring and Easter centerpieces graced the tables. Two authors spoke and showed powerpoint programs highlighting things about their books.
Linda LeBert-Corbello, author of In the Shadow of My Brother’s Cold Blood, talked about how Mr. Dave Hickock contacted her and asked her to help him write about his brother’s murder spree and the lasting effect it had on the family.
If the Devil Had a Wife, by Frank Mills, is the untold story on the life of H. J. Lutcher Stark, Orange, Texas. Actually, the author is Rebecca Stark Nugent, who uses Frank Mills as a pen name. The book is a mystery of intrigue, lies, power, cover up, money, blackmail, and families.
Following the book talk, a buffet was served. Shortly after all guests were served, the authors sold and signed books and visited briefly.
