Lake Charles, La. -

Around noon Saturday, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding a body on the banks of a canal on 4th St. in DeQuincy. The investigation revealed James D. Davis, 50, 601 E. Harrison, DeQuincy, was walking on the pathway between the road and a canal when it appears he slipped and struck his head on some concrete below.
Davis was last seen around dark Friday when he left the Parkway Motel on foot after visiting some friends.
His cause of death will be determined by the coroner; however, at this time, there is no suspicion of foul play and the death appears to be accidental.
CPSO Detective Andree Daugereaux is the lead investigator on the case.
