Gov. Bobby Jindal has started his new term in office with little upheaval among his staff.
The governor is keeping nearly all his cabinet secretaries in place, rather than making sweeping changes to the circle of people who lead his executive branch agencies.
Jindal hadn’t indicated any interest in a wholesale shake-up after winning re-election. He’s keeping most of his more than a dozen cabinet secretaries as his second term began this week, including Commissioner of Administration Paul Rainwater, the governor’s top budget architect who oversees the day-to-day operations of state government.
The governor hired a new leader for his emergency preparedness office, choosing former St. Tammany Parish President Kevin Davis. He also named a new leader for the Louisiana National Guard after the previous adjutant general retired.
