On August 16, 2008 at 9:25 p.m., Louisiana State Police – Troop D investigated a fatal hit and run crash on the Interstate 10 south service road, milepost 46, in Jefferson Davis Parish.
The crash occurred when a pedestrian, walking east on the Interstate 10 south service road was struck by an unknown vehicle. As a result of injuries received in the crash, 47 year old Mark A. Kinnison of Kelly, LA was pronounced deceased at the scene. The unknown vehicle continued traveling east on the Interstate 10 service road.
The damage to the unknown vehicle is to the right head lamp area and to the right mirror on the passenger door. Pieces of the head lamp and to the mirror were recovered by Troopers at the scene.
It is unknown at this time if impairment was a factor; however, routine toxicology tests are pending on Mr. Kinnison.
