Friday, March 5: Eat Smart Play Hard–Celebrate National Nutrition Month with the Museum! At 3:30 p.m., learn about fruits, vegetables and the food pyramid! Everyone will go grocery shopping in their very own store!
Saturday, March 13: Sasol Second Saturday Science Show–Join Rebekah Cole of Sasol at 11 a.m. and learn how chemistry involved in foods that everyone eats everyday! See how iron is extracted from breakfast cereal using a magnet! Discover what makes popcorn pop!
Wednesday, March 17: St. Patrick’s Day–Wear green and get $1 off! Visit the ArtSpace and make a shamrock ornament!
Thursday, March 18: Adventure of the Senses–This program is an after hours program from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for families with children affected by autism spectrum disorders. Take this opportunity to visit and play!

Spring Break Spectacular:
Saturday, March 27: Harry Houdini’s Birthday–Celebrate Houdini’s birthday with a wonderful magic show at the museum. Local magician, Perry Vincent, will astound guests with incredible feats of magic at 10:30 a.m.
Monday, March 29
: Mexican Flowers - ArtSpace Workshop–Celebrate spring by making Mexican flowers. Classes begin at 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. and are limited to 15 children. Please sign up in the office.
Tuesday, March 30: Kids in the Kitchen–Chef Joe will bring his mobile kitchen and give hands on demonstrations at 11 a.m.
Wednesday, March 31
: Easter Weaving Placemat - ArtSpace Workshop–Create a beautiful placemat for your table during this ArtSpace Workshop. Classes begin at 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. and are limited to 15 children. Please sign up in the office.
Thursday April 1: Silkscreen Printing - ArtSpace Workshop–The Program Director will give a silkscreen printing demonstration at 11 a.m. Children will have the opportunity to print a Mickey Mouse poster a la Andy Warhol. The workshop is limited to 15 children. Please sign up in the office.
Friday, April 2: Members Easter Egg Hunt–The museum will be closed to the general public and open to Members Only for the Members Easter Egg Hunt! The fun begins at 10 a.m. Cookies and refreshments will be served! Don’t forget your Easter basket!
Monday, April 5: Painting Fruits - ArtSpace Workshop–At 2 p.m., everyone will examine Frida Kahlo’s works of art and paint their own to honor the artist of the month.
The workshop is limited to 12 children. Please sign up in the office.
Museum hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is $7  for children and adults. Birthday parties and memberships are available. Contact the Children’s Museum at 337-433-9420 or visit www.swlakids.org for more details and special events.
