Project KNOW Underage Drinking recently unveiled a new “teen-friendly” website— www.knowunder21.com. The new, visually attractive and user-friendly site is designed to give teens and parents quick and easy access to important information about underage drinking.
The site offers five informational pages: “The Scoop,” “Reality Check,” “Toolbox” and “Stuff 2 Do.” “The Scoop” breaks down alcohol: what it is made of and how it functions within the body. This area of the website also debunks popular drinking myths and explains the nature of alcoholism and alcohol problems. “Reality Check,” explains the legal and health consequences of underage drinking. “Toolbox” provides resources to get help for drinking issues and what to do in the case of alcohol poisoning. “Stuff 2 Do” will provide tips on how to have fun without drinking.
Project KNOW’s original website, www.projectknowitall.com, will remain active and continue to serve as a valuable underage drinking resource and provide information about the program.
Project KNOW, a program of the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, is a parish-wide effort to combat underage drinking. The program is creating this awareness through education and enforcement.
