High-temperature records are falling all over the Midwest as the middle part of the U.S. suffers through a nasty heat wave. The National Weather Service issued heat warnings in 14 states on Sunday, and it’s expected to get hotter as the week goes on. Some areas already have seen heat index readings as high as 125, the National Weather Service said. Meteorologists say the excessive heat will reach the East on Wednesday.

Quote of note

"This young woman had her day in court. We need to start respecting jury verdicts and decisions that juries make." – Jose Baez, the attorney for Casey Anthony, talking to Fox News on Sunday night. Anthony was freed from prison on Sunday, and she is expected to stay out of the limelight for the time being.
