A Lake Charles man lost his life late Thursday night when the car he was a passenger in was involved in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate-10 in Sulphur.
According to Chief of Police Lewis Coats, SPD officers were called at approximately 11 p.m. to mile marker 21 to investigate an accident on the westbound side of I-10. Upon arrival, officers found a car that had overturned on the right side shoulder of the interstate.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor at this time.
