Sam Houston High School will represent Louisiana and Calcasieu Parish at the 2009 Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California (June 20-29, 2009). 

The students from Sam Houston High School that will be attending competed among hundreds of students from across Louisiana at the FBLA State Leadership Conference.
The Sam Houston students that will be competing at the National level due to their outstanding efforts were as follows:  Matt Ritter, Nick Geymann and Chris Brown placed 1st in Banking and Financial Systems.

Krista Scruton, Amy L’Hoste and Eric Bent placed 2nd place in the state after competing in Global Business. 
These students will be a part of 200 members and advisers of the Louisiana State Delegation attending the National Leadership Conference. 

These students will be competing in their team events as well as participating in workshops. 

This year’s conference workshops will offer information and motivational sessions around a variety of topics such as Business Relationships, Ethics, Entrepreneurship, Career Development, Communications, Information Technology, and Leadership.
They will connect with and learn from other future business leaders. 

They will meet new National FBLA Officer Candidates, get information about fundraising opportunities for their local chapter as well as compete to win scholarship money.
