First Baptist Christian Academy has a new address. The address is no longer the same as the church address. The new address is 282 Old Highway 171. The phone number remains the same at 337-855-9075.

FEBRUARY 17
•Free H1N1 flu shots at the Moss Bluff Senior Center
Shots to combat the H1N1 flu will be offered to seniors at the Moss Bluff Senior Center free of charge on Friday, February 19 from 1 p.m. until 3 a.m. only.
Shots will be given on a first come first served basis and an appointment is not required or accepted. For further information call the Moss Bluff Center at 337-217-0500.
•No story time at the Moss Bluff library.

FEBRUARY 23
•McNeese State University Financial Aid Regional Workshop for students and parents at DeQuincy High School at 6 p.m.

FEBRUARY 24
•Moss Bluff library story time at 10 a.m. with the theme of “Robots.”

MARCH 1
•Registration for returning Holy Family students and freshman registration for St. Louis High School.

MARCH 5
•Noon dismissal for Holy Family students due to teachers’ inservice.

MARCH 19
•SHHS news: STEPS Visitation field-trip open to seniors only. Those interested must sign up before the field trip.

ACT Registration and Test Dates
Registration for test date April 10  ends on March 5, with late fees being assessed until March 19.
Registration for test date June 12 ends on May 7, with late fees being assessed until May 21.

Graduation Exit Examination for tenth, eleventh, and eligible re-testers will be on two days. Phase 1 will be March 23, 2010 (before Easter) and include writing and math/SC/SSCR items. Phase 2 will be on April 12 through April 16 and include remaining test items.

ONGOING EVENTS
•The Moss Bluff Library Teen Book Club meet at 11 a.m. and the Teen Advisory Board at 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. every four weeks on Saturdays in the meeting room of the library at 261 Parish Road. For information, please call the Youth Services Librarian at 337-721-7132.
•Story time on Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. at the Moss Bluff Library.
•The Ravenous Readers Book Club for Tweens in grades 3 to 5 will meet on the first Thursday of each month at 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Moss Bluff Library, 261 Parish Road. The schedule and book list follows.

Moss Bluff seniors to hold fundraiser
On Saturday, March 27, the Moss Bluff Senior Center will hold its annual garage sale for one day only at the center located at 2868 Highway 171, next to Catfish Cabin. The hours will be from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. Donations of clothing, household items, etc. are being accepted for the sale.
In addition to the garage sale, this year the seniors are adding a barbecue chicken dinner complete with baked beans and slaw for only $6. Tickets may be purchased in advance by going to the center or calling 337-217-0500. The dinners will be prepared for the seniors by Don Manuel and Rodney Duplechin of Post 9933 VFW.
Please mark your calendars and attend this worthwhile event. All proceeds from the events will got directly to the Moss Bluff Senior Center to fund activities for your elderly.
