II Corinthians 5:17 says, “Old things have passed away [not going to] and behold (to gaze upon, look after and to look hard at) all things have [not going to, but have] become new” [not fixed or rebuilt, but new].
So just what has become new? Let go to the first 3 chapters of Ephesians. In these 3 chapters alone, there are over 22 references of: in Him, “in whom”, or in Christ. My favorite is Ephesians 1:6, “In the beloved, I am accepted”.
When we find our identity with God -- by what Jesus did -- we find not only “our heritage”, as a born again believer, but also the ground of our confession. I am what the Word says; I’m not going to be, “I already am”. When I ‘raise my confession’ to the level of the things He has made “new in me”, I will live in them.
This is truth that will change your life! Think about it.
