Ask any senior at the Moss Bluff Senior Center how far two dollars will go and you will discover that two dollars will buy hours of the most fun you can have at any price. At least once a week these silver haired citizens make their way to the center to play bingo and spend time with their old friends and often to create new ones. Thus begins the story.
Recently, Nancy Fuller, with the Moss Bluff Senior Center, reviewed the financial records of the center and discovered that two dollars a week supplied by these eager, avid players had contributed over two thousand dollars to the Center since its opening three years ago. That would mean that a THANK YOU PARTY was in order for her charges.
Southern Home Health was contacted and asked if they would care to co-host the party and the fun began. On June 19th, the players were treated to a variety of challenging games, the best bingo prizes ever and then lunch of fried chicken, baked beans and the most delicious dessert one could imagine. The whole morning was punctuated with laughter, hoots and hollers, jeers to the winners and an urging by the losers to call the next game.
So, the next time you look in your wallet and see a couple of lonely dollars, think about what you could do with those two singles if you are at least 60 years of age, want to meet some of the nicest people in town and, most of all, want to play BINGO!!!!!
