Friday night at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a motorcycle accident in the 6300 block of Chaisson Rd. in LeBleu Settlement. The driver of the motorcycle, Daniel Goings, 67, 850 Beau Ave, Moss Bluff, was pulling out of a private driveway onto Chaisson Road, heading east, when he crossed over the westbound lane into the north ditch, over corrected and ended in the south side ditch. Goings was not wearing a helmet and was alone on the motorcycle. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Goings was pronounced dead around 9 p.m. Saturday as a result of the injuries sustained in the accident.
As state law mandates in all traffic fatalities, a toxicology report will be performed.
