The Sam Houston Lady Broncos got in two of four games scheduled for the SHS Spring Classic picking up one win and one lose on Saturday.
Rain cancelled all of Friday’s games.
A solo home run by Brianna Granger started off a six run inning for the Sam Houston Lady Broncos in their win against Brusly on Saturday morning.
With a 3-0 lead, Granger’s homer gave the Lady Broncos a 4-0 lead. Karli Wainwright hit an RBI single to left to score Taylor Landry and Kim Kennedy hit a 2-RBI triple to left center to make the score 7-0, Sam Houston.
Granger then hit a hard shot to the Brusly second baseman that was too hot for her to handle to score Pam Wainwright who reached on a walk.
Kennedy (1-for-1, two walks), Pam Wainwright (1-for-2, a walk), and Granger (1-for-3) each picked up two RBIs each for the Lady Broncos in the win.
Granger picked up the win for Sam Houston with four innings pitched allowing only two hits and three walks.
Sam Houston’s other game was a 3-0 loss to Little Cypress-Mauriceville.
