We are horrible cat owners. I say that because we routinely go against the American Humane Association’s explicit instructions not to let our cats go outside. If Betty White came to our house and whupped us within an inch of our lives, we would deserve it.

You may recall me mentioning how we have four dogs in our household, which you’d think would be enough. But my wife, Theresa, is of the opinion that you can never have too many dogs around, and once you’ve got two dogs you might as well have 10.

On Thursday, over 30 deputies with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office took part in a Canine Encounters Law Enforcement Training (CELET) course in order to get a better understanding on how deal with dog encounters on a daily basis.

On Sunday night, July 6, a couple walking on Ohio Street in Sulphur discovered the dumped puppies and brought them home. In searching for someone to care for them they were directed to contact Bayou Bullies Rescue and Rehabilitation.
