Jessica Guillory and Amanda Dougherty, W.W. Lewis Middle School eighth grade Louisiana History teachers, organized a Louisiana Day event Thursday for their students, encouraging them to embrace and understand the culture of Louisiana. Several students danced, others ate, and still others were on the ball field playing games with their friends. On the menu was good old chicken and sausage gumbo, boudin balls, fried catfish, jambalaya, and king cake. (SDN Video by Lisa Kennedy)
