The City of Lake Charles has opened additional temporary shelters of last resort:
MLK Community Center, 2009 N. Simmons, Lake Charles, 491-1497
Forest K. White Middle School, 1000 E. McNeese, Lake Charles, 802-4000.
On Friday, the City opened a temporary shelter of last resort at the Pryce-Miller Recreation Center located at 216 Albert St, Lake Charles (next to the Foreman-Reynaud Community Center), phone number 502-5231.
Evacuees going to one of these temporary shelters should bring medicine, bedding and any other personal items they will need.
Update: The 216 Albert Street location is no longer taking residents needing shelter.
