The Maplewood-Hollywood Lions Club is co-sponsoring the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner in Sulphur on Thursday, November 27. Other sponsors are the Southwest Daily News, the City of Sulphur, and Care/Help, Inc. The lunch will be served beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Sulphur Recreation and Aquatic Center, 933 West Parish Rd, in Sulphur. A prayer service will be held before the luncheon at 9:30 a.m. at the same location. Bingo and other activities will run from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
Volunteers are needed to prepare the food and serve. Preparation times are 8 a.m. Wednesday, November 26, and 8 a.m. Thanksgiving Day. Kitchen crew volunteers are needed beginning at 5 a.m. Thanksgiving Day. Donations of turkeys and desserts are also needed.
