Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the Mines will stage a dinner theatre show about finding true love — “The Perfect Husband.”
It’s the 1950s and a group of high school girls are making plans for the future and their perfect husbands. This is a hilarious and nostalgic look back as the girls make plans, break plans, make dates and break dates throughout their journey toward wifedom — all while trying to determine what’s happening to the most perfect couple they know.
Performances are set for 7 p.m. Thursday, February 9, and 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 14 at The Mines Theatre, 121 E. Napoleon in Sulphur. Doors open at 6 p.m. Attendees must be 21 or older. The Byrds will be presented at both showings. Tables and individual ticket pricing available.
Proceeds from “The Perfect Husband” go toward scholarships for high school seniors pursuing continuing education in the performing arts. The theatre awarded a one-time scholarship during the 2014-15 school year and the 2015-16 school year to a Sulphur High School graduate.
This year we will grow our scholarship and expand our application region to include Sulphur High, Westlake High and Vinton High School.
Each Patron will be recognized at the event, on the playbills, on the scholarship award and on social media. The Mines tries to place individual purchased seats together, the theatre only guarantees up to two individual ticket seats together per purchase.
