SULPHUR — The W.W. Lewis Middle Beta Club conducted a 'Scavenger Hunt' Nov. 19 collecting canned goods and monetary donations for Care Help of Sulphur. Student groups had 45 minutes to go to homes or businesses to collect items.
Eighty-nine Beta students and 25 parents participated, collecting over 3,000 food items and $704 during this time. The Beta Club chose to donate the items to Care Help of Sulphur because of their support to the students' own community. Care Help of Sulphur has many programs that not only assist those who are in need but offer a means for community members to help themselves through programs or trainings.
The Beta members not only had a great time working together to gather items, they felt a sense of accomplishment knowing that they have helped support their own community. The W.W. Lewis Beta Club sponsors are Robbin Vincent, Pam Smith, Kari Fontenot, Stacey Blanchard, LaRosa Guillory and Patricia Dupree.
