  • Lake Charles man arrested for failure to register

  • According to a news release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, it was on Dec. 1, at approximately 8 a.m., that deputies stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Glen R. Parker, of N. Lakeshore Drive in Lake Charles. Parker reportedly did not possess any form of identification, which is required by law for all registered sex offenders.

  • LAKE CHARLES — A traffic violation stop on a truck at the intersection of McNeese and Kirkman streets resulted in the arrest of a Lake Charles man for failing to register as a sex offender.
    According to a news release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, it was on Dec. 1, at approximately 8 a.m., that deputies stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Glen R. Parker, of N. Lakeshore Drive in Lake Charles. Parker reportedly did not possess any form of identification, which is required by law for all registered sex offenders.
    Parker, who was convicted of first degree rape (victim under age of 14) in Oklahoma in November 2004, was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with failure to register as a sex offender. He was released on a $5,000 bond set by Judge Richard Wilson.
    CPSO Deputy Brandon Jean was the arresting deputy on this case.
