MOSS BLUFF — A Moss Bluff man has been charged with 4th offense DWI, among other charges, after Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputies reportedly spotted him driving erratically and then striking a curb on Bronco Ln. in Moss Bluff.
According to a CPSO news release, it was on November 19, at approximately 6:30 p.m., that deputies conducted a traffic violation stop on Jeffery W. Hebert, 41, of Bronco Circle in Moss Bluff, after spotting him driving dangerously. Deputies found Hebert to be unsteady on his feet and talking in a slurred manner. They also discovered a one-month-old child inside the vehicle.
After Hebert allegedly performed poorly on a standard field sobriety test, he was arrested. When questioned, Hebert reportedly told deputies that he had consumed numerous prescription pills throughout the day.
Hebert, who has three prior DWI arrests since 2002, was booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with DWI 4th; child endangerment; careless operation; and driving while under suspension.
CPSO Cpl. Chet Moseley was the arresting deputy on this case.
