A Sulphur man has been arrested in connection to an alleged battery and attempted robbery of a woman at the Lake Charles Civic Center.
Kevin D. Trahan, 53, has been charged with attempted robbery, simple battery, simple assault and for resisting an officer by refusal to identify.
According to a Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office news release, it was on Nov. 15, at around 12:30 p.m., that an off-duty CPSO deput spotted a man, later identified as Trahan, reportedly striking a female driver of a truck that was parked at the Civic Center.
Trahan had reportedly forced his way into the truck window while the victim sat in her truck with the driver's side window down and allegedly grabbed her by the hair and demanded that she give him her purse. Trahan reportedly continued to force his way into the truck's window and began choking the victim while attempting to grab her purse.
The victim was able to flee by placing her truck in drive and accelerating through the parking lot, causing Trahan to fall off of her truck. He was then quickly detained by the off-duty deputy.
Trahan was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. Judge Michael Canaday set his bond at $20,000. CPSO Deputy James Jones was the arresting deputy on this case.
