MOSS BLUFF — A Sam Houston High School teacher has been arrested for allegedly having inappropriate sexual contact with a student. Lance Duhon, 37, of Lake Charles, has been charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile as well as prohibited sexual contact between an educator and student.
On April 11, 2013, investigators with the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations were contacted by a parent concerned about alleged inappropriate contact between their juvenile daughter and a teacher at Sam Houston High. Troopers assigned to the Lake Charles office met with the complainant and the complainant's daughter.
During the interview, the girl reportedly stated that she was involved in a sexual relationship with the teacher, Lance Duhon.
Authorities state that text messages between the girl and Duhon reportedly contained explicit sexual content and were indicative of a sexual relationship between the two of them.
On April 12, 2013, investigators met with Duhon. During the interview, Duhon reportedly admitted to inappropriate contact with the girl.
Duhon was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center. Bond was set at $11,000.
If convicted of both charges, Duhon faces up to a $6,000 fine and up to 7½ years in prison.
