  • Body of woman found in Lake Charles area ditch, boyfriend charged with her murder

  • The boyfriend of a woman whose body was discovered in a south Lake Charles ditch has been arrested in connection to her murder. Dwane E. Fox, 47, of Harvard St. in Lake Charles, has been charged with second degree murder.
    It during the late afternoon of Jan. 10 that Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to Friesen Road, just east of Tom Hebert Road in Lake Charles, in response to a report that a deceased woman had been found in a ditch. Upon arrival, the deputies had reportedly found that the woman, who was later identified as Mychele Cleaver, 48, had sustained trauma to her head.
    CPSO detectives then reportedly spoke with Fox, who allegedly confirmed to beating and choking Cleaver at his home and later dumping her body in the ditch near Friesen Rd.
    Fox was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and held without bond.
    CPSO Detective Brent Young is the lead investigator in this case.
