Sulphur - Gertrude Anna Crochet, 89, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2008, in her residence.
She was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and was a Catholic Daughter. She also worked for the Calcasieu Parish School Board.
Survivors include three sons, Alfred and Pat Crochet, Jr. of Carlyss, Adolphus and Dorothy Crochet of Sulphur and Jasper and Mary Crochet of Florien, LA; four daughters, Gloria A. Wolbrink of Sulphur, "Donnie" Dianne Morrell of Houston, Theresa and Marvin Ardoin of Sulphur and Ethel and Rex Rossett of Crestview, FL; one sister, Annie Mae Thibodeaux; 25 grandchildren, 87 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Patrick Crochet, Sr.; her parents, Emile and Annie Lejeune; two grandsons, Carl and Louis Bacque and one granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Crochet.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 4, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery of Carlyss.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. and a cursillo rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. on Friday. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.mem.com
